40 Years Kaldor Public Art Projects
40 Years Kaldor Public Art Projects
An extensive publication has been produced to consolidate this important history, and to celebrate the 40 years of Kaldor projects since Christo and Jeanne-Claude wrapped the coastline of Sydneys Little Bay for the first project in 1969. Four decades later, there have been 19 Kaldor projects including Gilbert & Georges The Singing Sculpture (1973), Charlotte Moorman and Nam June Paiks exhibition and performances (1976), Jeff Koons Puppy (1995) and Gregor Schneiders 21 beach cells (2007), as well as a forthcoming project by Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi (2009). Representing a history of groundbreaking events, each of the projects is represented with texts and previously unpublished photographs, letters, drawings and documents.
